In his 1903 will, your great-grandfather, Thomas Wixtead expressed what appeared to be his displeasure over the relationship between his son, Thomas E. Wixtead (your grandfather) and Lena Belle Johnson (your grandmother). In his will Thomas Wixtead bequeathed only $10 to his son, Thomas E. Wixtead, while gifting his nephew, James W. Wixtead, $300.

Thomas Wixtead’s 1903 will details how he wanted his property to be distributed among his family members, including your Aunt Emma.

James W. Wixtead was the benefactor of St. Denis Cemetery and later a founding trustee of the Simon Fairfield Public Library in Douglas. He was also a store owner and developer of the “Wixtead Building” which still stands in Douglas.
